I went to the see the house under construction at Huntington Homes in Vermont on June 6th. Adam walked me through. I reached there in about 3 1/2 hours from Boston, thanks in part to the loan of my sister’s safe and zippy Honda Fit, lack of traffic and decent road conditions (I have to take a detour in to reach the factory due to recent flooding).

Demo day at Roberts Rd was Monday, July 11th.
Mohan and I arrived at 8 but demo didn’t begin until about 9:15. It was a sad day, as we had hoped to move into this home, but the generosity and warmth of the neighbors somehow sanctified the event.

Update as of 10/2011 — I’m about to launch into another kitchen project and Scherrs now makes things really easy — you provide the IKEA box numbers and they take it from there.
I recently completed a kitchen renovation in which I used IKEA base cabinets and custom doors from Scherrs in North Dakota. The end result is stunning, and the prices compare favorable with an all-IKEA project.
