Apparently I'm far too cheap and far too crunchy to buy credible-looking skin products that are heavily marketed to me on instagram, like the Froya Organics anti-aging collection, at $159, complete with effusive testimonials.
Instead, desiring the same results at a lower price point and with more control, I consulted with Gemini and ChatGPT on a simple serum using the most important active ingredients. Here's what I came up with. Will add my own before and after here :). For now, it definitely feels tightening.
- 40% rosehip seed oil organic, cold-pressed
- 25% pomegranate seed oil organic, cold-pressed
- 30% jojoba oil organic, cold-pressed
- 4% sea buckthorn seed oil organic, cold-pressed (it's important that this be seed and not fruit oil)
- 1% vitamin E
Preparation
Combine oils (by drop or by weight) in an opaque glass container with dropper (I recycled an existing empty dropper).
Application
After shower or after washing face, add ~7 drops of oil to your palm, rub palms together, then press evenly into face and neck, being careful around the eyes.
