I'm afraid of off-the-shelf protein powders in general -- who knows what's really in them? -- so this is my DIY version, made from simple ingredients.
- 1 part flax seeds, ground
- 1 part hemp hearts, ground
- 1 part chia seeds, ground
Grind each ingredient separately in a coffee or nut grinder until it is a relatively fine powder, then combine. Store in a jar in the frige. Chia seeds, in particular, are much more digestible this way.
I sprinkle this on my lunch salad. You can also add it to yogurt.
